new2Lindberg & Plane Over City. It’s an old picture, carefully preserved, captioned with the white ink that no one has used for at least half a century. It looks like it was taken by an amateur, hanging out a window, a tourist trying to capture a moment of history with a home
camera. Another hazy image of the past that survives in a faded  family album. There’s the city, for sure, but where’s Lindbergh? All one can see for certain is empty sky, and some small dark specks that are just as  likely to be dust motes as an airplane in midair.
